Grand Opening: Laura Hale’s Meander Friday, December 11, 2:00 pm. Central Library Sunken Garden
Laura Hale’s Meander, the final addition to Mind the Gap! will be officially opened during this event. Between December 7th and 11th, Laura will complete this community-based artwork in the outdoor sunken garden of the Regina Public Library with help from students of Connaught Community School. In the early fall, those involved in the project gathered and preserved foliage, leaves, berries, and grasses that are going to be integrated into a winding river of ice. The installation will be visible from the ramps that cross over and above the sunken garden – providing a bird’s eye view and an opportunity for the participants and viewers of the installation to explore and discuss the geography and environmental issues of the prairies.
